Executive Director, HR - HPCL

Mr. Rakesh Misri is the Executive Director-Human Resources at HPCL since May 01, 2012. Prior to this position, he was Executive Director-Direct Sales looking after Industrial & Consumer Sales and Lubricants marketing.

Mr. Rakesh Misri is a Gold Medalist in Civil Engineering from REC Srinagar (now NIT Srinagar) and has 33 years of rich and varied experience in the petroleum industry having led in positions of Human Resources, Direct Sales, Lubricants marketing, Retail Sales, Retail upgradation, Pipeline projects and Engineering & Projects. Prior to his role in Human Resources, Mr. Misri worked in the Marketing function for over 28 years and developed expertise in handling cross country pipeline projects, building LPG Plants and a deep knowledge of customer needs, policy development and improving systems and processes.

As Executive Director-Human Resources, Mr. Misri is presently responsible for developing and designing key HR Policies & Strategies and implementing contemporary HR Practices for building a High Performance culture. He has implemented a number of innovative initiatives at HPCL which include HP PACE, a novel PMS process which aligns the individual and SBU goals with the organizational vision; HP PATH a behavioral competency framework based on multi-rater (360 degree) feedback; Leadership development initiatives based on multiple methodologies involving 360 degree feedback, mentoring and experiential learning; Value based Reward and Recognition Schemes and developing a strong road map for the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

He is now focused on Talent management, Succession Planning, Knowledge management and aligning HR practices to Business for gaining competitive advantage, achieving growth, diversification and profitability.
