Rohit joined Microsoft in September 2012 and is responsible for leading HR priorities and developing HR initiatives that support Microsoft’s businesses across India. In this role, his focus include aligning the organization’s HR strategy with business objectives, building a culturally aligned and diverse organization, talent development & management and implementing effective HR policies & systems across the company’s 6,600 strong employee base in India

Prior to Microsoft, he has spent about 11 years at GE in various role across multiple businesses. He joined GE India Corporate in 2001 as the Organization and Staffing Leader for India and was also the Program Manager for the HR and Information Management Leadership Programs. In 2002 he moved to GE Aircraft Engines first as the HR Leader for Information Technology in Bangalore and then as the Global HR Leader for Information Technology at Cincinnati, USA. In 2005 Rohit moved back to India as the HR Leader for the John F Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bangalore, where he led HR Strategy/Operations, Growth and Engagement for approximately 3000 engineers & researchers across 8 GE businesses. He was also the HR Leader for Capital India, the financial services arm of GE, from August 2007, prior to moving into the role of Head of HR for GE Energy India in January 2011.

Prior to joining GE, Rohit worked for close to eight years with Heavy Engineering, FMCG and Technology companies including Eicher Goodearth Limited (Tractors division), Bausch and Lomb India and Cadence Design Systems. During this time, he was exposed to different elements of HR including union relations, collective bargaining, organization development & training, compensation & benefits, commercial team vitality and development. Rohit enjoys playing sports, especially Tennis, Table Tennis & Badminton. He is married to Swati, who is also a HR professional. They have two children, Dhruv (17 years) and Kanhav (16years).
